The Power of Commenting

Commenting on websites, blogs, forums and press releases is an excellent way to build substantial backlinks.  One can view this all over the web where people setup blogs and fail to keep monitoring them for one reason or another.  When this happens, website scrapers come, find the information and login details and this information is passed along to the great spammers of the web.  They place their thousands of links on comment boxes to gain some type of ground on the web.  In my opinion, this is totally futile activity, but nonetheless, the comment monsters continue their path no matter what.

The comments section is a feature of online blogs, news websites, and other websites in which the publishers invite the audience to comment on the published content. This is a continuation of the older practice of publishing letters to the editor. Despite this, comments sections can be used for more discussion between readers.^[1]

Disqus (/dɪsˈkʌs/) is an American blog comment hosting service for web sites and online communities that use a networked platform. The company's platform includes various features, such as social integration, social networking, user profiles, spam and moderation tools, analytics, email notifications, and mobile commenting. It was founded in 2007 by Daniel Ha and Jason Yan as a Y Combinator startup.

In 2011, Disqus ranked No. 1 in Quantcast's U.S. networks with 144 million monthly unique U.S. visits.^[2] Disqus was featured on CNN, The Daily Telegraph, and IGN, and about 750,000 blogs and web sites.^[3]

On December 5, 2017, Disqus was acquired by Zeta Global.^[4][5]
